Normandy

Normandy is another area of France full of character. The Norman region is recognisable by its beautiful timbered houses. In the countryside, the opulent, green fields and healthy cows produce the best butter of France.

As you can guess, the gastronomy there is a delight: famous cheeses, seafood, land farmed meat…but also cider, calvados and other rich liquors. If you are a food lover, you won’t be disappointed!

Normandy has its fair share of scenic beach resorts (such as Deauville, Honfleur or Granville…) and famous spots on the coastline: Mont st Michel but also, of course, the D-Day beaches.

Normandy finally has a wealth of glorious parks and gardens. Perhaps the best known of these is Claude Monet’s enchanting garden at Giverny.

Other points of interest in Normandy: Bayeux and its tapestries, Rouen and its 100 bell towers, Cherbourg…

Airports: Caen, Paris
