Sit back and picture a boho chic wedding venue in the Dordogne, friends and family gathered, tucking into awesome French food on long wooden banquet tables decorated with wild flowers. If this sounds like your tasse de thé then Chateau des Petits Faucons is the place for you.
The domaine is a venue we like for its beauty but also its casual vibe and sustainable approach to weddings. It dates back to the 12th century and it’s worth name dropping to your guests that even the Pope Clement IV spent a few nights at the Chateau!
Now let’s imagine your wedding celebration there…
For the ceremony, you have the choice of either the romantic Church adjacent to the chateau or next to the small pond in the shade of the impressive Cedar tree.
Afterwards head towards the inner courtyard for fresh cocktails and nibbles.
The wedding feast will take place under the fairy lights in the forecourt at the foothill of the castle, overlooking the fields.
When it’s time to dance, head to the beautiful ancient barn to party the night away.
On the day after, gather again with your loved ones around the swimming pool, or play some games in the garden. Bake some fresh pizzas with local ingredients, or let yourself be served until sunset. Muse under the starry sky over an unforgettable wedding during which you and your friends and family have created a bond that will last a lifetime.
Finally let’s mention that the estate can sleep up to 26 on site in a total of 11 rooms. Plenty of accommodation from chateaux to cottages and (safari) tents is available nearby.
To summarise Chateau des Petits Faucons will suit perfectly fun loving couples in search of a great laid-back and intimate wedding experience in South of France.
Things to do nearby: this region is called the “Tuscany of France” and is peppered with picturesque bastide towns, sunflowers fields and rolling hills. In particular don’t miss a visit to Monflanquain (8 km) and Monpazier (10 km) which are both among the “plus beaux villages de France”. There are various fantastic routes for hiking and mountain biking straight out from the chateau. Finally this is the perfect region for food lovers, with no less than 13 AOC wines and markets every day sampling local delicacies from truffles to foie gras. Fancy a wine tasting session? Then the venue owners will be happy to show you the way to the best vineyards around.

"The château is a magical place! The castle garden is fantastic, the forecourt, the herb garden, the swimming pool, the orchard and the ponds, all super romantic. For each part of the party there are various marvellous places and we used many of them! :) Despite not being religious, the romantic church next to the castle was an unforgettable setting for the ceremony. The cocktail in the herb garden was warm and intimate and dinner on the forecourt with a view of the landscape was priceless. The barn is a truly unique setting for the party. We will never forget the cheers of all our friends as we walked into the barn for the opening ball. The Sunday morning brunch with all our guests, followed by a last dip in the pool, was the perfect end to three days of celebrations. Many thanks to you, Rachna and Jaap! The preparation with you was super nice and open for all our requests. We will definitely be back for a vacation to relive it all!"

"C'est un endoit et famille vraiment genial. I have worked there with my wedding horses and other animals and it really is a lovely, family run venue with beautiful gardens and superb views. The couple who run it are kind, enthusiastic and incredibly helpful. A great venue for those wishing to create a fun, convivial and relaxed feeling for their guests on their special day. Fully recommend :-)"

Thanks Jaap en Rachna, I really enjoyed shooting the wedding of Iris and Mark at your beautiful domain. With all the charming little corners and little details of the castle, the green surrounding and beautiful sunset! It was great fun for me as a photographer :) Thanks for the warm welcome. I would love to come back someday to shoot another wedding!

It's not often you meet castle owners as young as Jaap & Rachna. Creative and well-spirited, they are the friendliest and most accommodating hosts that you could wish to meet.
Nestled in some of the most beautiful countryside in South West France, and ideally located just a stone's throw from the charmingly quaint Bergerac Airport, their romantic castle with beautiful gardens, lovely renovated barn and romantic little church across the field make the chateau a one-of-a-kind wedding location.
The efforts that they have made to renovate their chateau in a fully eco-responsible way brings something new and unique to the wedding market and fits very well with our own ethical stance.
During the summer of 2020 we worked with Rachna and Jaap to put together a magical editorial at the Chateau and now I can't wait to organize my first wedding with them, at their beautiful castle, very soon!
