Domaine de l’Abbaye de Maizières, close to the famous town of Beaune in Burgundy, is like a fairytale wedding village: besides the Palais and Chateau, you’ll also find there vineyards, ponds, orchards, a chapel and a watermill!
Founded in the 12th century by cistercian monks, we love the fact that this wedding venue combines a rich historical heritage with a true sense of luxury.
Enclosed by a fortified wall, the domaine provides two distinct areas: the Chateau that comes with the Orangerie and the Palais that comes with the “Grande Halle”.
Depending on the size of your wedding, you will be able to choose the area that suits you best. You could also decide to hire the entire domaine!
For the wedding ceremony pick your favourite spot amongst the 12 hectares of land. One of our favourite areas is by the bucolic water mill!
We love the two reception spaces on site: whilst the Orangerie (that can sit 250 people) is bright and modern, the Grande Halle (for 120 pax) is full of character with its oak beams and large glass doors.
On site, you will also find two pools, a tennis court, saunas and a jacuzzi, ideal to relax on the morning of your wedding with your bridesmaids/best men.
Both the Chateau and Palais feature plush bedrooms that provide premium quality bedding and modern amenities. The kitchen and lounges (including a lounge with home cinema) are at your disposal, so you will feel “comme à la maison”.
The Chateau can sleep 15 people and there is a glamping village on site that can offer a further 28 beds.
The Palais can sleep up to 14 people.
Finally the team of the Abbaye will put their expertise at your service and, if you wish, they’ll be able to help you organise your wedding entirely.
It is also worth highlighting that the owners have at heart to respect the environment in and around the domaine and produce fresh food in their biodynamic farm.
on site is offered a wide range of activities involving wildlife and many outdoor activities such as fishing, archery and hiking. The domaine is in the heart of Burgundy, so don’t miss visiting wine cellars and sampling some of the most renown wines in the world. The famous Hospices de Beaune, one of France’s most prestigious historic monument, is only 12km away. If you fancy a party of golf, the Golf de Levernois is just 10 minutes away.
