The stunning Chateau Lacourt, in South West France, strikes that perfect balance between old and new, plus gives you that luxurious yet homely feeling. It is an idyllic French Chateau wedding near Toulouse.
First of all, we are big fans of its location: between Toulouse and the Pyrénées, it is close to the admirable village of St Lizier, officially listed as one of the most beautiful villages of France.
Drive 5 minutes outside the village and discover a secluded, gorgeous sienna coloured chateau with an ancient woodland of 100 acres.
Pass the impressive gates and be amazed by the style and opulence of the place, furnished with antique furniture, refined art pieces and contemporary items.
If you wish, on your wedding day, you will be lucky enough to get married in nothing less than a cathedral: the renown cathedral of St Lizier, an 11th century old church with exceptional frescoes and a peaceful cloister.
Then gather your guests at the chateau, on the front lawn or in the different connecting lounges of the chateau.
The wedding dinner can take place outdoors with fairy lights all around or in the large nomadic tent.
On the day after, just relax, make yourself at home with all your friends and family and enjoy a BBQ brunch with local delights.
The chateau can sleep 28 people and more in 12 ensuite rooms and 1 apartment. We love the large and bright rooms, as well as their sleek and fresh design.
One option for the rest of you guests is a set of apartments altogether in the village nearby. These can sleep up to 150 people and offer reduced prices to Chateau Lacourt wedding parties. There are plenty of other sleeping options in the village.
Finally the kind owners will be by your side to guide you by recommending the best suppliers in the area. When you make your booking they will also ask you about your interests in order to line up some truly fun and memorable days out for you.
Things to do nearby: the incredible UNESCO world heritage village of St Lizier will delight all your guests with its cobbled streets, medieval half timbered houses and lovely atmosphere. There you will find restaurants, supermarkets and all the amenities you need. The chateau is located in Ariège, a fairly undiscovered part of France with nature everywhere and the beautiful Pyrénées in the background. Whether it is skiing, snowboarding (in winter) or cycling, mountain biking, kayaking, hiking, or horse riding…any outdoor activity will be possible!
