Chateau de Montpezat is a magical, serene Toulouse wedding venue sitting on the edge of the river Garonne and at the foothills of the Pyrenees mountains. This refined white chateau, with its graceful turrets and 45 hectares of forest, is located in one of the most gorgeous areas of South of France.
A Picture Perfect Toulouse Wedding Venue
Chateau de Montpezat is just 45 minutes from Toulouse airport, in a region famous for its wines and lip-smacking gastronomy. Its architecture dates back to the 16th century and is similar to the Loire Valley chateaux. The domaine has been perfectly renovated to become an incredible setting for weddings.
The first surprise when you arrive at the venue, is its location… the entrance to the chateau is at the centre of a small lovely village; but when you open the chateau gates you will discover a vast oasis of vegetation, offering complete privacy from the outside. Here you will hear bird chatter all around, as well as the river Garonne gently flowing by.
During the time of your stay, the chateau will be yours entirely, which means that you’ll be able to enjoy all the varied spaces of the venue, from the large living areas to the impressive outdoor spaces.
For your wedding ceremony, pick your favourite spot in the 45 hectare park, for instance under the majestic walnut trees or in front of the chateau. There is also a catholic church in walking distance.
The wedding dinner will be held in the farmhouse or in its scenic courtyard.
On the day after, the pool area, surrounded by a vast orchard, will welcome you for a relax brunch or bbq.
Accommodation and on-site support
In terms of accommodation, the chateau sleeps up to 24 people in 7 historical suites and a farmhouse, only 100m away from the chateau. We love the decoration of the interiors, which is very respectful to the chateau. Amongst the beautiful antique furniture there is on display some superb contemporary art, making the place both homely and stylish. We also particularly like the “Cathedral room” with its incredible 15-foot high ceilings, modern design and views of the river.
With the opening of their annex, in 2024, the owners have expanded the accommodation offering with seven additional suites, bringing on-site capacity to 38 adults. They have also recently partnered with two charming nearby cottages, both situated just 10 minutes away, offering accommodation for up to 24 additional guests.
Today, the estate is therefore able to offer direct accommodation options for up to 62 adults in total.
Further guests can easily be accommodated in the many charming B&Bs and boutique hotels located nearby.
When it comes to on-site support, the venue’s lovely wedding coordinator – born and raised in the Pyrenees – will stand by your side to assist with all major decisions, from supplier selection to communications and logistics, from the day you book right through to the first dance.
As for the private chef Otavio, originally from São Paulo, he crafts beautiful menus for weddings and all the celebrations surrounding them, always tailored around your tastes and preferences.
Why We Chose Chateau de Montpezat
During our visit there, we loved the warm welcome from the team, as well as their incredible dedication and care. With them by your side, you’ll be in excellent hands when it comes to bringing your dream wedding to life.
The domaine is impressively vast, beautifully framed by the river and extensive woodland. The courtyard is an Instagram dream, offering the perfect fairy-light setting, while the interiors are equally gorgeous with their mix of modern artwork and period features.
Chateau de Montpezat would suit couples looking for a chic yet characterful and relaxed wedding venue in South West France.
