Chateau du Ronchay is a Normandy wedding venue we love for its incredible hospitality and attention to detail. Nestled within an extensive park and just 6 km from the sea, this chateau is a true haven of bliss and charm.
A Love Story with the chateau
As a child, Myriam, the current owner, would glimpse the pointed roof of this once-abandoned chateau from her grandparents’ farm, feeling drawn to its magical charm. Years later, she found the estate in a state of disrepair and vowed to restore it to its former splendour.
“Comme à la maison”
The owner Myriam compares the chateau to a fairytale castle. And it’s easy to see why—with its elegant turrets and intimate, inviting allure, the chateau feels like a magical escape. What’s even better? Myriam’s vision is for the château to feel “like home.” Here, you’ll find no trace of a corporate or impersonal approach. Instead, you’ll be welcomed like old friends and have full access to all the chateau’s spaces, as if it were your own.
For your wedding, the entire estate is yours to enjoy. Choose your favourite spots for each part of your celebration, from the charming gardens to the reception room, which seats up to 50 guests. If you’re planning a larger event, you can also opt to set up a marquee (at an additional cost) or dine under the stars. As for the Pavillon Ronsard, it features a bar and a ballroom to continue the festivities late into the night.
When it comes to the accommodation…
Chateau du Ronchay sleeps up to 35 guests on site. The main chateau offers 7 beautiful bedrooms (and 4 bathrooms) sleeping 15 guests. An extra 20 guests can be accommodated across two lovely outbuildings: the first floor of the Ronsard Pavilion features two bedrooms sleeping up to 10 people, while the first floor of the Vigne Vierge Pavilion offers two bedrooms for up to 8 guests. For added flexibility, two high-quality folding beds can be placed in the bedrooms of your choice.
There is also a charming guesthouse, just 150m away, that can sleep up to 10 people. While independently managed, the owner has partnered with them to offer additional accommodation options at a favourable rate.
