Chateau de Josse is an elegant neo-gothic Brittany wedding venue that we love for its tranquility and versatility. Plus it has a beautiful reception hall, with crystal candelabras and polished wooden floors, that will give to your wedding a certain Versailles feel!
What we also like at Chateau de Josse, besides its very elegant outlook, is that you can use it as a blank canvas to create a totally bespoke event. Indeed, the owner is not only adorable but also very flexible and open to new ideas. Furthermore, she is English herself so you can be sure that nothing will be lost in translation!
For the ceremony you will be able to choose your favourite area within the large and magical park of the chateau. There is also a lodge that can be used, for instance to continue the party after the meal.
Chateau de Josse offers great services for its price: it can sleep up to 40 people on site and there you will have the exclusivity of the venue from Friday to Sunday afternoon.
The wedding dinner will be prepared by the chateau’s in-house chefs and on the day before or after the wedding, you could have a BBQ meal or a fantastic Brittany crêpe/pancake event from €22/pers.!
On the grounds you’ll also find a tennis court and a swimming pool, that could be used as a gathering point on the Sunday to relax after the festivities.
Finally Chateau de Josse is set in the countryside but you’ll be able to find plenty accommodation nearby.
Things to do nearby: Chateau de Josse is located in the heart of Brittany and next to La Gacilly, a vibrant village that holds every summer France’s biggest open air photography festival. You will also be a step away from the Broceliande forest (35 km away) or “King Arthur’s forest”, renown as a place of magic and mystery. If you’re after the city buzz, head to Rennes, one of the most dynamic cities in France. Finally, from the chateau, you could go and explore the Brittany North or South coasts, for instance the Morbihan coast. Our favourite spot there is the charming Saint-Goustan harbour.
