Can you picture yourself in front of a French chateau with an impressive lake as a backdrop for your big day? Then the romantic Chateau du Pordor could be the one for you. Located in Brittany, between Rennes and Nantes, this French wedding venue sits at the water’s edge, right at the heart of a 30 hectare estate.
This estate provides an exceptional boho-chic environment with various spaces that can be used throughout your wedding day.
On the big day, your guests will marvel at the sight of the chateau adorned with an abundance of hydrangeas and wisteria.
They can then wander down to the ceremony in a tree clearing by the lake. There, some wooden benches, an arch and bouquets of wild flowers can be set up to make of your blessing a magical moment. To give that extra wow factor you could decide to make your grand entrance on the lake, arriving by rowing boat!
The reception drinks, or “vin d’honneur”, can take place on a large terrace overlooking the lake. There enjoy a glass of champagne or crémant (French bubbly) with your wedding guests whilst admiring the sunset.
For the wedding dinner, head to the reception room, that is full of character with exposed stones and wooden beams. After the dinner, the night is yours: dance until early morning and, if you wish, have a fireworks display under the starry sky.
On the day after, carry on partying… the in-house caterer will have prepared for you a delicious brunch or a typical “crepes” festoon with local cider!
In terms of on-site accommodation, the domaine can sleep 26 people: 4 guests in the chateau, 16 guests in the farmhouse and 6 guests in the guesthouse. There is extra accommodation for your other guests within a 10 min. drive.
Finally let’s mention that the owners of the chateau have been hosting weddings at Le Pordor for over 20 years and have helped create unique weddings for brides and grooms from all over the world.
