Chateau Canet is an incredible vineyard wedding venue down in South of France. The setting – amidst vines and olive groves – is magical, the greeting from the owners – with over 15 years of experience in hosting – is heartfelt and the wedding options are aplenty.

On your big day, you could say “I do” amongst the vineyards of Chateau Canet. Then wander up to the formal gardens to have your wedding reception drinks, with the majestic chateau as the backdrop.

You can choose your favourite place to host dinner, whether in the olive grove, scattered throughout with fairy lights, or in the stunning beautiful Bohemian style tent. There is also a superb Orangerie with traditional beams and large glass doors opening to the courtyard where you can dance the night away.

On the day after, gather in the BBQ area. Framed by stunning oleander, this is another spot that will charm your wedding guests.

All the while, your guests can relax and recharge in the comfort of their cottages which all have a private terrace and kitchenette. There are 9 different cottages sleeping a total of 39 people and up to 45 people if using extra beds. It is easy to find accommodation nearby and the majestic fortified town of Carcassonne, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is only 12km away. The main Chateau is the home of the proprietors and is not available for rent.

There are also plenty of opportunities to share some fun, around the pool, on the tennis court or playing pétanque. Or you can take your guests off on a treasure hunt through the vineyards! And it goes without saying that the cellar door is always open for a wine tour and tasting.

They treat every wedding as a bespoke event and are committed to do everything they can to ensure that your wedding is just as you dreamed it to be. Green Plus Point: the owners are committed to sustainable viticulture, producing eco-friendly and sulphite free wines. They offset their carbon footprint by supporting global reforestations projects. They favour local sourcing for their catering and provide eco-friendly household products.

Things to do near Chateau Canet:

Ideally located, it is a perfect place to easily explore the medieval Cathar castles and picturesque villages that scatter the surrounding countryside. The Canal du Midi, only 10 minutes away, is a beautiful place for a bike ride or an outing on a barge. The stunning medieval city of Carcassonne is also just 10 minutes from here, and a golf course can be found within a 15-minute drive. The seaside resort of Gruissan, known for its pink salt lakes, is reachable in an hour.

We celebrated our weekend wedding at Chateau Canet in July, and it was nothing short of amazing. The vineyard location provided the perfect backdrop for our special occasion. Our wedding ceremony took place amidst the serene olive groves, and drinks reception on the beautiful lawn in front of the chateau. The wedding breakfast and evening celebration in the courtyard were just as amazing. The staff, Victoria and Anna, were highly attentive during both the planning and the weekend itself, making our intimate wedding feel extra special and ensuring everything went smoothly. Thank you! Floris, Victoria's husband and resident winemaker, was a delightful addition to our celebration weekend. His passion for winemaking came to life during the cellar tour, and he gladly answered all of our guests' questions, making the experience both informative and enjoyable. The wine is lovely too! We couldn't have asked for a more perfect wedding venue. Chateau Canet provided an ideal setting for our special day. We look forward to returning in the future to celebrate our anniversaries.
