Chateau des Rivières, set in rolling vineyards in South of France, is for the “bons vivants”… those who wish to find a lavish wedding venue which is also laid back and utterly welcoming.
As you approach the chateau, framed by two towers topped with glazed emerald tiles, it starts to reveal its Mediterranean charm. We love this wedding venue for its authenticity: this is not an impersonal hotel but very much a venue with that home away from home vibe.
It’s also worth noting that this domaine, where half a million bottles annually is being made, offers exquisite, award winning wines!
On the morning of the big day, have a glass of bubbly (selected by the domaine!) with your bridesmaids in the sun kissed courtyard.
For the wedding ceremony you have a choice of options; either next to the romantic fountain framed by an alley of Toscany looking cypress trees, or on the terrace right in front of the chateau.
The wedding breakfast could be held outdoors under a canopy of fairy lights or in the reception room for up to 85 people.
After the feast, it’s time to party in style – here you can let your hair down until 4am in the morning!
The day after, enjoy a French Brunch under the sun with all your guests, before diving into one of the 2 pristine swimming pools.
The Domaine can sleep up to 67 people in 5 rooms in the chateau and 7 self catering cottages. Plenty of extra accommodation can be found nearby. Plus your more adventurous guests can pitch tents in the 200 yr old park, if they wish.
There is also on the estate a spa with jacuzzi and sauna.
Finally the owners are a delight to deal with and will always be ready to go that extra mile to help.
Things to do in the area: it goes without saying that this chateau is the perfect place to go wine tasting. The town of Pezenas, only 12 min away, is delightful with its cobbled streets, many artist studios and its famous weekly market. 27km away, discover St Guilhem Le desert, officially classified as “one of the most beautiful villages of France” with an Abbey which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The chateau is halfway between the vibrant cities of Montpellier and Beziers.
Finally the beaches are only 30 min away.
