The first thing you will notice at Chateau de La Ligne is the quiet confidence of the place: long lines of vines stretching towards the horizon and the warm stone of the former monastery. Ideally located between Bordeaux and Saint Emilion, Chateau de la Ligne is an idyllic vineyard wedding venue that mixes French history with Irish hospitality.
Vineyard wedding venue near Bordeaux – celebrate among history, wine & wide-open skies
Your ceremony can unfold at the edge of the vineyards, framed by the rows of grapes that have shaped this landscape for generations. After the “I dos,” guests can enjoy a relaxed cocktail on the lawn before moving to the Orangerie for dinner. This 12th and 17th-century space is truly gorgeous – filled with natural light, chandeliers and tall windows. Opening directly onto the gardens, it can host up to 180 guests.
For smaller celebrations, the Grand Hall seats up to 50 guests or 70 in cocktail. Lined with Irish antiques and heritage pieces, it is both an elegant and warm space.
A Chateau Bee favourite is the cosy Irish Bar – a characterful hideaway serving fine spirits, Château wines and the award-winning whiskeys and gin from the château’s sister distillery “Hinch” in Northern Ireland!
The festivities can continue the next day with a laid-back brunch by the pool and a friendly game of boules – the perfect way to round off a full wedding-weekend experience.
Accommodation for 50 on site & all inclusive packages
One of the biggest advantages of Château de La Ligne is the way it supports a full wedding-weekend experience. With accommodation for up to 50 guests, you keep your favourite people close without juggling multiple locations. The in-house team, led by the Irish owner and his fantastic multilingual staff (english, german, french, italian), offers inclusive packages that make planning smoother.
Our Chateau Bee perspective
When we first came across Château de La Ligne, what stood out wasn’t only the beauty of the estate, but the atmosphere created by the team. There is a grounded warmth here that makes couples feel looked after from the beginning. The combination of vineyard setting, rich history and modern facilities gives the venue a rare versatility. Plus with Bordeaux just a short drive away, travel is easy for guests flying in from abroad.
