Near Bordeaux and in the heart of Dordogne, Chateau de la Valouze is an impressive chateau that we like for its elegance and versatility. It will delight couples looking for an authentic and luxurious venue for their wedding day. Plus it sleeps an outstanding 96 people on site!
Chateau de la Valouze is located in one of the most beautiful regions of South France, Dordogne, and sits in 34 hectares of parkland. There you’ll find 3 lakes, many exotic trees and even the oldest oak tree in France! Needless to say, if you wish to have your ceremony outside you’ll be spoiled for choice and might even have a deer joining you on the day!
For the reception drinks, enjoy the gardens at the front of the chateau or the winter garden marquee in the unlikely event of bad weather.
When the moment for dinner has come, head towards the beautiful barn (we love its high ceilings!) that sits up to 150 people. There you can party and make the most of the night as you won’t upset any neighbours! You could also decide to have your wedding meal outside under garlands of fairy lights.
For the day after, you are more than welcome to have a brunch on the grounds. An ideal location for this is by the pool where your guests can happily reminisce the magic of your wedding day.
Finally the estate can sleep up to 96 people and it is also worth mentioning that on the grounds you‘ll find two tennis courts as well as a delightful retro jazz bar, perfect to entertain some of your guests the night before your wedding!
We think Chateau de la Valouze would pretty much suit any couple, as it has it all: a wow factor, cosy rooms, a great outdoors and all the ingredients for a superb wedding!
Things to do in the area: the chateau is located next to a village where you’ll find all the necessary amenities. As you are in a wine region don’t miss a wine tasting tour. You can also explore the UNESCO town of St Emilion (30 min. away) and Aubeterre-sur-Dronne (20 min. away), one of the most beautiful villages of France. If you have a bit more time, discover the gorgeous city of Bordeaux.
