Just 20 minutes from Bordeaux, Chateau Lorraine is a peaceful, family-owned estate where elegant 16th-century architecture is set off by the natural beauty of the Médoc vineyards. Dragonflies skim across fishponds, dappled light filters through oak trees, and the château itself, recently restored by the owners, provides a refined backdrop for an outdoor wedding amidst the vines.
Outdoor Vineyard Wedding in Bordeaux with Courtyard Dining
Picture your ceremony beneath the trees beside the pond, followed by cocktails on the terrace as the sun begins to dip. Then comes dinner; long wooden tables set in the courtyard or under the Nomad tent, surrounded by vines and lit by strings of warm fairylights.
The estate comfortably hosts weddings from 70 to 120 guests, with a large reception room and covered spaces offering stylish backup plans in case of rain.
The weekend can extend naturally into a relaxed Sunday brunch under the trees or on the chateau terrace, with views stretching across the park. It’s an easy-flowing, weekend-long celebration, with enough indoor and outdoor space to adapt to whatever you imagine.
A Bordeaux Wine Estate with luxury accommodation
The on-site accommodation is very much part of the chateau’s appeal. The chateau offers five large guest rooms and suites that together can sleep up to 14 people. We really appreciate the high standard throughout, as well as the fact that each room has its own distinct style. The two suites in particular, 68m² and 70m² respectively, are dazzling, combining a luxurious feel with a touch of historical charm.
Transport-wise, the chateau may be set in the countryside, but it’s just 20 minutes from both Bordeaux airport, making guest logistics refreshingly straightforward.
Why We’ve selected Chateau Lorraine for our Selection
This is very much a personal venue, run by the same family for over two decades. That authenticity comes through in the level of detail they’ve put into the renovation. The ceremony spot by the pond is utterly romantic, and the option for courtyard dining under fairylights captures everything we love about an al fresco celebration. We also appreciate La Serre, a well-designed reception space that adapts easily to different group sizes and styles. With on-site accommodation for 14 and several good lodging options nearby, this chateau makes the Bordeaux wedding dream feel within reach.
