Chateau de Paon is a graceful French chateau wedding venue that we love for its unique look, fashionable interiors and enchanting natural surroundings. With pale green shutters and a facade that combines 16th and 19th century architecture, the Chateau exudes French style, Provencal charm and romance.

Ideally located between Arles and Nimes in Southern France, Chateau de Paon is in the heart of the Camargue, an exceptional natural reserve on the edge of the Mediterranean sea.

Ideal for intimate gatherings of up to 100 people, the domain provides a bijou setting, ensuring an intimate atmosphere on your wedding day.

For your ceremony, exchange vows in the French garden, followed by a delightful cocktail in the main courtyard surrounding a picturesque fountain.

The wedding dinner can take place al fresco in the tree lined alley or indoor in the beautiful reception room complete with air conditioning and seating up to 100 guests. The adjacent salon and the trendy bar offer ideal spaces for continuing the celebration and dancing long into the night.

The day after, gather by the pool house for another round of festivities under the sun. Your guests can relax and take a refreshing dip in the pool, followed by a spirited match of pétanque. For those with energy to spare you can enjoy a round of croquet or a game of badminton!

Accommodations on-site include 12 individually designed rooms, each celebrating a specific aspect of nature. Options range from luxury suites such as L’Héron, the bridal suite with a bathroom in the tower to L’Etable, a six-person apartment with a private kitchen and bathroom above the original stables.

Finally let’s add that the owners of Chateau de Paon are particularly welcoming and fluent in both French and English so you’re sure that nothing will be lost in translation!

Things to do nearby:
Spend some time in the vibrant town of Arles, a mere 10 min away, and visit the Van Gogh Foundation. Discover the unique atmosphere of the Camargue Natural Park, known for its significance as a natural paradise for migratory birds, a nesting area for flamingos, and a habitat for bulls and horses. Go wild swimming at the UNESCO-listed Roman aqueduct, Pont du Gard, which is a 40-minute drive away, whilst Les Baux de Provence, with its delightful hikes and officially classified one of the most beautiful villages of France, is reachable within 35 minutes. The white-washed fishing town of Saintes Marie de la Mer is also conveniently located just 30 minutes away.

We were lucky enough to get married at Chateau de Paon in August 2025, and we cannot imagine a more perfect place to have celebrated our wedding! From the moment we found and visited the venue, we knew it was the one. Being located right outside the enchanting town of Arles adds even more charm and appeal to the Chateau. The setting was absolutely breathtaking – the historic bones of the chateau itself and the upgraded amenities, with the magnificent tree (which we were married under!) and gorgeous rose garden, and the perfectly curated decor throughout the space was all truly magical. Gideon and Zoe went above and beyond for us at every step of the way – they were responsive, organized and so genuinely kind, ensuring the entire planning process went smoothly. From the initial site visit to the wedding day itself, they were attentive and lended a helping hand with each element of the weekend. This place wouldn’t be what it is without the attentiveness and hospitality of Gideon and Zoe - we are forever grateful to them. We couldn’t recommend Chateau de Paon enough - if you’re looking for a venue that encompasses beauty, professionalism and heart, look no further.

The Chateau was perfect – with multiple gorgeous outdoor spaces for the ceremony, cocktails, dinner and dancing, the space needs no “transforming.” It’s gorgeous (air conditioned!) ballroom was the best rain plan I could have asked for, although thankfully we didn’t need it. The Chateau had rooms to host 28 of my friends and family on-site. Our hosts Giddeon and Zoe were so helpful throughout the planning process and gave us free range for the whole weekend. The bonus: a pretty loose noise ordinance. Our wedding went until 6am. Chateau de Paon is perfectly situated 10 minutes from the incredible town of Arles, a gorgeous city for us to explore. Arles had an incredible range of hotel options for our guests and a fantastic restaurant (le Galoubet) for our welcome dinner. This venue was the biggest and most important decision I made – not only because it was the perfect place to execute my vision – but because my hosts also introduced me to my fantastic wedding planner who made it all come to life.

It has been one month since our wedding at Chateau de Paon and we wish the festivities never ended. We had the most beautiful and best time of our lives and were supported greatly by Zoé and Gideon throughout the whole planning process as well as the event itself. We rented the venue for Saturday until Sunday afternoon and were able to start preparations on Friday afternoon which helped immensely with all the stuff that was to do. Gideon even helped setting up tables with us and both owners were around to answer all urgent questions during the final preparations. The weather was great and all our guests were amazed by the beauty of the chateau and all the details that Zoé and Gideon have put around and within the chateau to create a very special venue. To Zoé and Gideon: We love you and want to thank you again for making our wedding weekend even better than we could imagine. Until our next visit to Arles.

For anyone looking for a wedding venue in Provence, look no further. The wonderful owners manage to perfectly manage a business with personality. Their care, personal touches and involvement made the whole process not only easy, but a joy. They could not have been kinder or more generous with their time, ideas and recommendations (even making dinner reservations for us during our initial visit). All the rooms are finished to the highest possible standard, the kitchen is magnificent and the pool area incredible. We could not recommend the venue more

My husband and I had the most wonderful wedding at Chateau de Paon only made possible by the support and attention to detail from the owners. The venue is absolutely stunning with each room having its own wow factor and the grounds are truly beautiful. We had the best wedding weekend and could not have hoped for me. I would highly recommend this venue for future couples looking to get married in Provence.
