Mas de So is a wonder, a gorgeous Mas that combines Provencal character, contemporary design and innovative architecture. It is idyllic Provence wedding venue.
Our first impression when stepping into the domaine was one of total bliss, as we walked into the sunny terrace to the chilled sounds of Norah Jones piping through. From the hilltop there are vineyards as far as the eye can see, cosy alcoves in the garden with colourful tables and chairs, and, in the background, the beautiful stone Mas.
Wandering up a bit further there’s the turquoise blue pool, with its stunning views across the vines.
You could have your wedding ceremony there or by the lavender bushes in the gardens.
Now for the wedding dinner, walk across the mound and look forward to the incredible orangerie: a 540m² hall that looks like a modern cathedral of glass and wrought iron.
Inside it is bright and spacious, with dazzling high ceilings and polished wooden floors. A cunning touch is the “mirror cube” on the side that tricks the viewer by extending the perspective but hiding in a clever way the catering kitchen and cloakroom.
On the day after, gather everyone back at the venue for a pool party and game of pétanque.
The Mas can sleep up to 18 people in 7 rooms. We are especially fans of the nuptial room with its superb sunken bathtub.
On either side of the wedding day you’ll be able to use the state-of-the-art kitchen, and there is also at your disposal in the Mas a cinema room, a snooker lounge and various super stylish salons.
Finally a fair description of the venue would not be right without a mention of Marie Ange who looks after the property and will be your “guardian angel” during your stay, making sure you are at the Mas as happy one can be.
To summarise, Mas de So will suit perfectly the couples who are after a quintessential Provence venue that is both luxurious and laid back.
Things to do nearby: The nearest village is very lively with shops, restaurants and cafés with terraces. Every Monday morning, the big market takes place along the main road. At Mas de So you will be ideally located to explore Gard and Provence; don’t miss for instance a visit to Uzès (20 min away) an elegant and authentic town of Gard with a colourful market; 30 minutes away, discover the vibrant town of Avignon (30 min away) famous for its Palace of the Popes and its annual Art festival. Finally a bit further afield is L’Isle sur la Sorgue, the ultimate destination for those who love Antiques and Art.
